Many thanks Mike...

I've seen some videos and looks very good!

As an individual or just planning to do the t-shirt printing business at home for about 200 pcs per month what machine you can recommend?

I'm looking for the same functionality but smaller machine or investment.

Actually my main target is to get a DTG Printer so I can print anything I want but found it very-very expensive.

Your suggestion/recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

George

PS.
How much your Mimaki cjv-130? Does it do the job?

There just isn't any cheap way of getting into DTG or a printer/cutter. A good used Roland is still gonna be around $7k. Beacon Graphics has the Roland sp 300v for $12k the Mimaki's are a little more but they print white which is why I got one. Roland has a better warranty and probably more people use them.

I would say they all get the job done for what they are designed for best bet is to attend a printware show or find a local dealer to see one work.

Many thanks again Mike for the input...

As a beginner I believe I have to go for a normal plotter for solid design and Heat Transfer for photographic design.

Do you have any idea for Heat Transfer otherwise I will go for other forum.

Had bad experience in HT in black shirt. The output initially good but feels like a sticker then crushed after wash :(

TIA,

George

In my opinion, there are no great papers for dark garments. They will all have that plastic feel (heavy hand) and is why I stick to lights with JPSS and I do vinyl. A DTG will give you the feel your looking for but as was said above it's not cheap to get into.

If you have a cutter there are all kinds of materials you can you on shirts. I would check out some of the sponsors so you can see what they have to offer in both material and colors. This will work for your one and two color and more if you wish. Then work your way up to one of the print and cut systems. You can also order multi colored transfers or digital transfer that you can heat apply yourself if you wish.

Good day!

Just a quick question only.

I spoke to someone and said vinyl is not possible to iron otherwise it will burns?

TIA
You generally don't want to iron any decoration on a t-shirt (screen printing, vinyl, etc)

But there is t-shirt vinyl that is used for making t-shirts with a vinyl cutter and a heat press.

Yes, a Roland Versacamm is type of machine you describe. Here's one example: Imprintables Warehouse | Roland® VersaCAMM VS-300

Thanks Rodney... this is exactly what I'm trying to do bcoz as per survey, vinyl heat press is better than screen (for solid color only) and my supplier said it will burn/melt if you iron the vinyl printed area which I doubt it.

any further input would be greatly appreciated.

After you apply vinyl to a shirt or whatever then someone buys it takes it home and washes it then irons it, it will melt. Always have "turn inside out to iron" on the tag that will save the vinyl.

I got a vp300i and it works great although i'm still looking for that perfect material that will not fall off. Could be the way i'm doing it but practice makes perfect.

Anyways it's a nice machine to get some really nice prints for your shirts.

Roland ESM-HTM2-10-24 (Sample)
100% Cotton 275 heat but i was told that roland needed 325 for pressing for 15 seconds

I made 3 Shirts at 275 and 1 of them the letters/art work fell off the first wash the other 2 shirts are doing ok but they are cracking after 4 washes one with just hanging up and the other drying at medium tempt.

Did you preheat the shirts before you applied the designs? If there was moisture trapped in the fabric, this may have caused the issue.
The only thing I can find on their site is “The product and garment can be washed by hand or in a washing machine with mild soap and gentle cycle. The product can be dried in clothing dryer inside out and with low heat.”
Did you contact them to see what they have to say? Have you tried any of the materials from Stahls or Imprintables?

I have the roland versacam 300. It is a great machine. I use the quickprint for my tshirts from imprintables.com. And I use arlon vinyl for everything else. The beauty of the versacamm is can do some many different things. We went from just doing t shirts to now making signs, license plates, decals. And you can do it all in full color. Prints and cuts beautifully. Don't thinkyoucan go wrong with the versacamm.
