I saw this video on Youtube with a platten and I was wondering where you can buy one. Here's the video:

I have the TucLoc plattens direct from SWFeast in Tampa and they are crooked. They differ in height by 1/4", the bottoms don't line up, and one of them is actually lower on the left side than the right, which makes my print sharp on one side, and slightly foggy on the other. I'm using them fine, but I find for the price, they should have been made to specifications.

I watched that video and the plattens look good but I wonder how much print space you give up on the sides and top/bottom. Also I am a new HM-1 user and don't know all there is to know about my machine. My printer does not put down as much ink in one pass as the printer in the video. Are there settings that I can adjust to put out more ink? It would be nice to achieve a good print in one pass instead of two.

Hi Brian :) With the hoop platens you basically give up a half inch on each side for the width of the hoop. As are as the ink you are laying down. If you go into your advanced print settings when going to print you just change the dpi on the color layer. Usually I print at 720 x 720 but if I want to lay more ink I change it to 1440 x 720 and this will basically double the dpi on one direction which will lay a much heavier layer. Also if you look down further in the settings you will probably see that you are set at photo normal. If you switch this to vivid darker it will brighten or darken your print alot also. It really depends on how light or dark the graphic is. I only use photo normal when printing photos, everything else I use vivid darker. If you have any problems finding these settings let me know and I will explain further. I am just not on my other computer right now with the rip program.

The phone number on the screen is Marc - aka - Printzilla. He has had several T-Jest in the past and must have decided to use the shirt boards off of them as opposed to buying additional boards. I sold him his 2 - HM-1's and his Kiosk and it seems to me that he never bought any additional boards, this video helps explain why, he already had shirt boards.

Funny because I have the same hooped shirt boards with my kiosk and they came with it. Never had a probleam with them bieng out at all. I often do not use the hoop as it does stretch the shirt sometimes and when you are printing a perfectly straight line edged print after removing the hoop it will no longer be straight, as the shirt relaxes againg. All other prints they are good for as the shirt is pulled very flat and nice.

BobbieLee,
I have heard people, when they give printing specs, discuss droplet size. Do you know if the HM-1 has a variable droplet size and if so how do you adjust it. (If it is there my trainer didn't mention it.) It seems that if that can be adjusted that you could put more ink down that way. Wadayathink?

Thanks

Brian
