So-- I'm ordering the TRANSPRO press from ProWorld for $299.99 unless someone knows where to get something for $300-$400 that is better. Does any site offer free shipping? My next thought was the HIX hobby lite 9x12 for $325. ANY THOUGHTS? I will make shirts for my son and my husband wears Tshirts so he'll get a few too, I guess. Home use only.

Where is the best place to buy teflon sheets/ cutting tools and the Tsquare I read about?

Thanks!

Coastal Business Supplies offers free shipping on heat presses I think. They also have a special offer for forum members here: http://www.t-shirtforums.com/view_coastalbusinessexclusive.htm

You can get all supplies you need there.

Another option would be to get a used heat press

Lou robbins is the inventor of the tool you mentioned,
He is my friend so i cant give you the info
*It's okay to answer a direct question asked about a specific product, even the suppliers themselves can do that when a direct question is posed. :) It's when no one is asking about it, and one keeps bringing up their friend's products, or creating a thread, and then thread after thread, post, then post after post, to keep mentioning it that that is frowned upon. I hope this helps.*

Jan,

I answered which press I have in your other thread, but I just wanted to mention a great place to get MOUSE PAD material for raising the image area above the seams when pressing.

It's Conde. Here is the link. M003 is the product number and that is an awful lot of mouse pad material for the money. Do the math! :) And yes, it's made for dye sub so it's made to go under the press, woot! :)

Here's the link:

OK-- I just bought The MAXX Heat Press 11" X 15" Digital Clam Shell Press from Coastal. More money, but wow-- your thoughts on the warranty sold me!! Thanks.
You're welcome, good luck with it. :)

I needed that warranty, myself. I feel better with it. Have not had to use it, and I hope they do well by me if I ever need it. If I ever need to use it, I"ll be posting my feedback on the forum, good or bad. I saw one time someone had issues getting service warranty from a name brand press, but mostly only see positive things. Hoping for the same for us. :)

Do I want the slip-pad protector the stahl's site suggests or just teflon sheets?
You might, I definitely do, but since they are not a necessity, I've just put off that purchase, but always want them. They can be quite handy from what I've seen.

They help the shirts slip nicely on and off the lower platen. Add a little cushion to help with seams and buttons. Some say they extend the life of the rubber in the bottom platen, others say they don't.

I just know it'd be nice to have at least the lower cover, because sometimes I flip the shirt and press the other side and I always have to use my second teflon sheet below to keep the lower platen clean.

I didn't see teflon sheets in 11x15, is that an issue? What should I get?
No issue at all. I have 16x20 sheets and they work great with my 11x15 platen. They hang over the edge which is kind of nice because it protects the garment and platen end to end.

They do get dirty over time, so wiping them down to remove ink that transfers on them is useful to keep the ink from transferring to the next item being pressed. I've lost a few shirts that way.

A damp wash cloth works for some people, others use a magic eraser, some mentioned 409. I've used the washcloth and magic eraser. They work.

I also use parchment paper now on my re-press, instead of teflon. One for the reason that the second press is really the culprit that dirties my teflon and second, with JPSS I really like the finished hand much better, is smoother, much! :)

I am excited to see what else I can do w/ this other than tshirts. The stahls site also recommends heat press test kits? Thanks everyone!
Good luck and have fun!! It really is fun stuff! :)
