I'm still in practice mode, but I just successfully cut some vinyl and now I need to heat press it.

What's the difference between craft paper and teflon sheets?

Do I even need a sheet or can I just press it directly? I don't want the plastic carrier to melt to the upper platen of my press. I'm using Thermoflex+

Thanks as always.

Both woll do the same thing. The teflon sheet can be wiped off and reused if it gets ink on it. the craft paper will also make vinyl have a matte finish if it is used to re-press a design and the teflon sheet will not. ... JB

Also are the craft paper sheets the same thing you find in a hobby store or do I need ones specially made for heat pressing?

Thank you.

There's a few things that could happen when pressing directly:
1. Nothing at all, your transfer comes out fine
2. It sticks to the top of the press and you have to spatula it off (it could rip too).
3. It loses some color due to direct contact with the platen

That craft paper should be the same, I've used the release liner from vinyl before, but I use a teflon sheet the most.
