hi guys, i'm running out of old tees and need a fairly cost effective way to practice screen printing. What sort of fabrics do you use, how much does it cost, and where can i get some? Appreciate all the perspectives i can get.
use your spouse's shirts ! just kidding. I would normally go to Walmart and peruse thru their textile section for the dollar a yrd fabrics, they have lots of 'em, i will find similar fabrics to the the composition of the fabric ( ie. 100% cotton, polyester etc) i will be working on. Or buy a whole roll of old fabric you find in your local flea market. I was able to get an old roll of almost 10 yds of poly/cotton blend from the flea market for 5 bucks. it was a little filthy on the first outer layer but good enough to practice on, i also made some pool skimmer socks with it , extends the time for cleaning my pool filter..
