we are looking at upgrading our exposure unit and we are curious if the nuarc megalight unit is good for fine detail and halftones? we understand it ofcourse takes longer to expose then the metal halide units. but we are just wondering if we can get fine lines and halftones. thanks

Yes you can. I was gonna upgrade from my florescent unit to a single point and still will if I find the right deal but have been getting great results with a few technique changes.

+1 Sben, definitely--I did a bit of four color process with a UV unit--although you can expect better resolution with a point light, a properly functioning vacuum system on a fluorescent unit will outperform a poor vacuum system on a point light.

Of course, if you can afford it, I'd look into their MSP3140 unit. If I was considering almost 3K for a megalight, I'd wait and drop the almost 5K on the MSP3140 instead--regret is never good. If you can get either one used in good shape for a decent sum, you really can't go wrong...
