Hello guys.

Was reading around and found that when using the epson wf printers, you would sometimes need to reset/refill the inks causing the current print job to be discarded.

I have a wf 7210 on the way and plan to purchase refillable carts from cobraink. I will be printing on 13x19 inch sheets that will be mostly large images...70-90% of the whole sheet filled. Will I be running into too many wasted ink and paper? The stock carts seem to hold a small amount of ink. Even the larger xl ones seem to hold a small amount.. cant find the actual ml anywhere(?).

For those that use the 7210 or similar and print large images, do you run into this problem?

You'll be surprised how many full color prints you'll get from refillables. Depending on what colors you're laying down, of course, but you won't be switching out that much.

Ruining a transfer sheet when a cartridge runs out is my biggest peeve with these printers. I mean, come on, as sophisticated as they are in knowing when a specific cartridge is running out, you can't tell me that between pages instead of in the middle of one???? Those 13X19's are 40 cents each, man!

I'm in the middle of a 600 page full color print job and I get irked every time a cartridge runs out. There goes another 40 cents.

Maybe we're missing something and another 7110/7610/7210 user will enlighten us. Please!

I wondered if this only happenes with with refillable cartridges . Does this happen with OEM cartridges?

I always said that was a mini " F You" from epson to everyone not buying their inks.

My wf 1100 would stop let you replace and continue.
Dosen't Cobra sell the continuess ink sys for that printer I use a 1430 and never run out of ink. 8OZ OF EACH COLOR only cost 80.00 bucks

They do, but many of us realize printing dye sub is hard enough without also dealing with CIS tube clogging issues.

I see Cobra is now offering more of the Ecotanks from Epson which are also CIS. I'm sure those have to be tubes too but on my next printer I might give one of them a shot. Of course their cost is twice as much as a comparable printer from them using cartridges. And as a double wammy, you're pre-paying for ink you'll never use.
I thought i read on cobrainks website they have upgraded their tubing to better quality to prevent clog issue?

Oh and how are you calibrating your colors when you goto print and what program are you using when you do print? I do have Ai and photoshop .I also have the WF-7610 with the jpss paper and 3g opaque but ive been so busy with vinyl i havent played with the printing side yet.

And i plan on getting the refill carts.

Thanks
