Hello,

I am looking to have an online store for my t-shirt business. I have looked at GoDaddy, Lunarpages and HostGator. I would like to have two domain names registered from somewhere (haven't decided who to use yet) but have them hosted somewhere else.
I have read where bandwidth and diskspace is a concern. It says there is UNLIMITED for both at HostGator or is there something hidden in that unlimited statement?
I looked at the prices between them and Host Gator appears to be loads cheaper. 14.95/month there as opposed to 24/month at GoDaddy and Lunar Pages even more. Do you have to have your domain with Host Gator to get that price?
Host Gator also has free dedicated IP and free private SSL with the Business plan. This should help with the shopping cart function correct?
What else do I need to be aware of or am I not thinking about?

Here is a link to the page with the information on it. Web Hosting - Shared cPanel Linux Web Hosting

Can anyone tell me why I would want to go with someone else since this price is so good?

Thanks,
Denny

Hello,

I would like to have two domain names registered from somewhere (haven't decided who to use yet) but have them hosted somewhere else.
I have used cheap-domainregistration.com for about five years now.
Only once I had a problem with them, I called customer service on Sunday, I got someone in the phone pretty quickly, and my problem solved in about 30 minutes.

Host Gator also has free dedicated IP and free private SSL with the Business plan. This should help with the shopping cart function correct?
That is correct if you are going to be processing customer credit cards, which I would not recommend. Instead I would use PayPal for it.

What else do I need to be aware of or am I not thinking about?
Check feedback from customers about customer service for those companies.
I use Lunarpages and I am very happy, so far.

Can anyone tell me why I would want to go with someone else since this price is so good?
Sometimes it is not just the price what you have to look for. I know we all do it. But a little peace of mind is good too.
Whatever choice you make, try to get a little peace of mind along the good deal.

Good luck
I use dream host and I love it. I use to have go daddy but their customer service is terrible. I still have another year paid for with go daddy but I abandoned that hosting account and went to dream host.
