I'm making a series of decals that will be made of up different coloured pieces of vinyl. To do this I need to be able to transfer cut bits of vinyl onto another non-stick sheet.

Does anyone know of a place to purchase the waxy backing paper that you get with rolls of vinyl?

The backing paper for vinyl is either silicone, clay or polyethylene coated and not wax.

One way would be to buy a really cheap roll of vinyl and peel the vinyl off and you'll have a roll of release paper. You can get a roll 24" x 10 yards for $16 (Signwarehouse EnduraGloss vinyl which is on #78 clay coated release paper)

Or do a search for silicone, clay or polyethylene coated release paper.

So it turns out that's not 100% what I'm after but it's very close. So far the silicone/clay release paper that I'm seeing is for the catering industry and isn't non-stick enough.

After further investigation it looks like what I'm trying to find is silicone-coated glassine release paper, such as this one Natural and Silicone Coated and High Quality Glassine Release Paper for Release Liner and Label Industry in Roll Manufacturers and Suppliers - Factory Wholesale - Xinfeng Group

Various places offer recycling facilities, e.g: Mid UK Recycling | Label & Packaging Waste Recycling

But none seem to sell, at least not to the public

Anyone know of outlets, preferably in the UK, that sell this paper to the public?
