Waterbased printing on Polyester - Results...

Hi all, I don't really feel too qualified to post information in these forums, I've only been screen-printing a year and don't consider myself experienced in any way, but I've been testing water based inks on polyester shirts, and have had very good results...

Using permaset aqua inks through a 43t mesh, and curing under my flash dryer, set at around 7 inches, very very carefully (in 20-30 second intervals, allowing cooling between) for 1:45 minutes, I appear to have acheived colour-fastness (after a quick wash cycle) without any noticeable shrinkage...

I'll try to upload an image of the results, although the print itself was hurried and far from perfect, so please forgive the quality!

The only poly tee I had to test on was black, hence the white print, and this particular star was printed with one pull...

Hope this helps some of you, I know that many are struggling with water based on poly...

Would love any feedback, and hope this helps...

Are you hitting the 320 degrees. I do 2.5 minutes at about 8 inches. I make sure I am at 320 once it stops steaming. I haven't been doing anything cyclical in terms of heat and cool.
