We're just opening up (again!) small sign business, so we want to advertise on our rear windows of vehicles.

I think I need "perforated" vinyl to make them somewhat transparent (maybe is a screen?). Can somebody help me purchase the correct type of vinyl to do this? Is perforated what I am looking for?

I looked for it already, but I cannot seem to find white - which is the color I want the signs to be. Just cut on a plotter, NOT printed out in color or anything fancy.

TIA!

Vinyl has not changed much in the 20 years we have been in the business. If you are "opening again" you should already know what you need to put on the back window. But anyhow...

Window perf is for full color printed graphics, not cutting out detailed shapes and letters in it.

For a back window you should be using cast vinyl, pick your favorite company....we prefer Orafoil/Oracal ...but 3M is nice too.

It will not be see thru...if you want to see thru it you would need to use transparent vinyl (and that is not going to look very good on a car IMO).

You are correct, of course, vinyl hasn't changed that much. In doing my homework these past few weeks, I HAVE found that many things HAVE changed! I was just trying to think of a way to make a different type of "look." There are new papers, inks, folks who've converted ink-jet printers to solvent to make their own transparencies for T-shirts....just to name a few of my favorite new discoveries.

I was looking for a way to showcase to others what might be a different way to advertise. Instead of white letters, which would (somewhat) hinder your view out the back window, it could act as a "shade" does - with the screen material.

Kind of a cross between a total wrap and a sign on your vehicle.

Just thinking of a different avenue for advertising.

Didn't intend to injure your "sensibilities" so much!

;-)
