Want to establish a pricing chart

722 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  DaveWhite
So I have been in business for a while and I need to establish a pricing chart. I can't decide whether or not to charge a set up fee or just tell them a price that includes the set up. I am a little shop so I am going to be a little more expensive when it comes to prices. I just don't get the same deals others get. I don't have many orders where I can buy cases of shirts. I kind of want to know what others are pricing in my situation.
Do you charge different if you are selling the actual shirts than if you sell them to a group? Wholesale vs. Retail.

I would like a visual graph if I could.

If you don't want to post it hear my email is [email protected]

Thanks a lot

Please just stick to the questions. I do not want any lectures. Sorry if it sounds pushy, but some of my posted questions get why off task and I can't get the questions I need answered, answered. :)

If you don't get the answers you need in a thread, you can always post a followup requesting more information. There are many reasons why a thread might drift in topic. Sometimes people may feel the question has been answered, sometimes the question may not be clear enough to provide a good answer.

For example:

So I have been in business for a while and I need to establish a pricing chart.
You didn't mention what type of t-shirt printing you do :)
What do you call retail. Retail to me is a customer thats orders shirts for their group. And there is contract sales, I have two types of contractors I sell to. One is a person thats sells to other groups and the other sell to retailers. The latter buys in a much larger bulk thus his prices are better.
I don't compete in price with my local competitors, on retail orders I am higher. My quality is better, my turn around is faster and my graphics are far superior.
As far as a set up fee I ALWAYS charge a set up fee. If I don't they will always come back and ask for one more shirt at the same price as the per shirt price on the bulk order.
My set fee is $20.00 per screen per side.
I discount at 150 shirts then 250, then 500 then 1,000.
I learned a long time ago that if I'm going to go broke I'm not going to work myself to death doing so.
Set your prices so you can make money. Don't worry about what everyone else is charging.

So what do you usually charge for the shirt and the print after the setup fee? If you don't mind me asking.
Retail prices;
2.20 for white xl and smaller 100% cotton
3.50 for all other colors
1.25 for the first color
1.00 for each additional color
this price is good to 150 shirts
at 150 to 250 shirts 2.00 per side
200 to 500 1.50 per side
500 to 1,000 .75 per side
1,000 and above .50 per side
per side prices doesn't matter how many colors (up to 8 not including undercoats)
contract prices depend on the customer and the volume they order on a regular basis
what do you guys normally mark up the shirts or is that what you are charging with shirts?
