I do unless there's no hurry and I have time to gang up other stuff.

If you can cut something out of the 5x36 piece leftover you have 0 cost in it. If you never have a use for it, you are not throwing money away when it's cleanup time.

Sometimes I will cut some of my logos or something that sells along with whatever I'm cutting if I have that much dead space. It's dependent on the color/material being cut whether I do or not.

I find that I rarely cut from scrap even though I can load pretty small bits in my cutter.

We look at the linear feet used out price based on value and volume. We don't use a multiple of material cost.
