I'm trying to find examples of vintage road signs to get some ideas for a design idea I have. I've searched google images, but I know I'm just using the wrong terms.
I'm looking for pics of the old billboards and postcards you used to see in the 50's and 60's for places like Miami or Chicago or Hollywood (any tourist type destination). The name of the destination would usually be centered fairly large, usually arched or angled and would look like it was in relief somehow. Then the sign around it would maybe have images of things to see or do. Very colorful and indicative of the era.
Would love any links to pics or sites that may help out.

Ok, I think I answered my own question. But still looking for more information on this design style. Trying to find more or better images to study.

I found a few using "vintage postcards", "vintage tourist postcards", "vintage location postcards" (no quotes) in Google Image. I remember this being more of a postcard than billboard thing.

I think you're right, Fenrir. I just happened to see a billboard last week with that design which is what made me want to look into this design for a tshirt. Guess the billboard designer had the same thought.
