My local Auditor's office wasn't clear on which license I need to get.
Ohio has - Vendor, Service Vendor, Transient Vendor, and Delivery Vendor.
Vendor is for brick and mortar.
Service is for certain industries.
Transient is for back of your car/booths/etc.
Delivery is for Internet.
I talked with five different offices today and confused them greatly by not knowing the above and calling it a "wholesaler's license," which is a term Ohio doesn't use.
Finally I got one guy to tell me that if I was planning on selling online and out of a booth I would need two licenses - Delivery and Transient.
That's 25$ each. To register with wholesalers in the first place I need only one number. Should I really be buying two numbers or wait until I get to the point where I even have a booth to get the Transient to cut down on the confusion?
If you're in Ohio do you think you are following all the differences correctly?
