Ive started a clothing line and got my LLC, Ive filed for a Logo and Slogan trademark. As I understand, it could take a very long time for it to get finalized.Do most of you go ahead using trademarks filed before process is complete.I don't plan on waiting several months to get my shirts out.

We used ours for several years before we filed. Slap a TM on it and when you get the (R) then change it.

Exactly! Using is the important point here. Use it or lose it. The TM mark means that you claim it as your trademark, but it is not yet registered to you (because that process takes years, and part of the process is proving a history of using it). If you take a look at common items, you'll see lots and lots of TMs.

It doesn't take years to get a trademark granted in the US. Pretty quick and simple through their online forms.

Thanks for all the replies, just got my filing number. My shirts will be coming out in April , working with web designer and screen printer now.Lots to do.

My trademark took about 8.5 months from filing to receiving my official registration document in the mail.
