One word answer: YES!

Yes, you could hand-cut simple designs, but one of the things I love about being able to use inkjet transfers is I can do very intricate designs and cut them on our plotter. :) That's the ONLY way we've worked since we got our plotter. :)

Now, which plotter to buy is up to you, but the BEST plotter right now for contour cutting is the Roland GX-24, in my humble opinion. Next would be a Graphtec CE5000 series plotter (including the CraftROBO PRO).

A much less expensive plotter to buy would be a USCutter LaserPoint. But there are several reasons that I don't really think that it's your BEST option, including having no media reader.

Chani is correct. I use the Roland GX24 and it has worked wonders in allowing me to cut the designs and press onto shirts. As the GX24 has the optic eye the cuts are easy via CutStudio as all you add are the registration points and the cutter does the rest.
