I'd do both if possible. If you visit a potential customer, they'll want to see examples of your work.
using a display book
How did some of you market your business to potential customers? Did you create designs and post them on your website? Or did you did you have a display book with clip art and various backgrounds?

We made a two page catalog. For example weve sold to car dealers and we put a tshirt mockup with a really cool design of their company name with a nice car on it, and we also put our information at the bottom of the sheet. On the second page we put four different designs were they can see their buisness name in different layouts. Usually we'll put a 1, 2 , & 3 color designs. Most of the time thell order.
