Hey, all-

Do any of you have your printer(s) hooked up to an uninterruptible power supply (UPS)?

I would think the model they carry at CostCo for $100 would do the trick and would not only provide you with protection from surges and 'power bumps' but might allow you to finish a shirt if you lost power.

It certainly would not hurt to have your printer hooked up to a UPS. It should be a higher end model with enough battery size to be compatible with the power requirements of your printer. At most it will only power your printer for several minutes but that should be long enough to finish a shirt you started on. The most important part is that your printer be plugged into a good surge protector. I hear of too many people just plugging their printers directly to an outlet. You risk major damage to all the circuit boards and motors in the event of a voltage spike, which can be caused by any number of reasons. Play it safe with a higher end surge protector (the $10 ones at Home Depot won't do it) or get a high end UPS which incorporates a surge protector.
