After many many moons, I still can not get this issue resolved. I have checked, rechecked and checked again all of my sensors that are still active on the NEO 1. They are all good. I have changed the Sub-B board and no change. Is there anyone out there that can help solve this issue. I can not access the menu to change the sensor settings to off because It automatically displays remove paper after starting. Any help would be appreciated!

You probably need to get into the secret menu, not sure which will work but try them all and scroll through the stuff to find the right one.

Maintenance mode 1:
press and hold the pause button and turn on the printer.

under paper counter or roll ppr feed set too off might work

maintenance mode 2:
press and hold the left, down and up buttons and turn on printer.

this will let you test the sensors and view or reset counters

maintenance mode 3:
press and hold the pause, down, and right buttons and turn on printer

you should be able to turn on off parameter but not sure which will help you, or clear the counters for the reed roll

test it out and try is all i can say, good luck

It's likely you've already read this, but if not, it may help.

I am not sure what your experience level is fixing 4800 based printers but I can try and give you a general idea of how I have fixed this before. The Remove Paper error is tricky and I have fixed several Flexi-Jets with this error over the years. Keep in mind that the Neo Flex may have the paper sensors altered differently than how I explain but it will give you an idea of what is going on.

From what I can understand, one of ways this error pops up is if the second set of rollers to the left of where the printhead parks gets lifted up while the printer is booting up. When those rollers are lifted it triggers the Paper Thickness Sensors (CN33 and CN34) this makes the printer think that there is a paper jam. When these printers are altered to work as DTG printers, all of the paper sensors are tricked into always "seeing" paper. When a printer that always "sees" paper thinks it has a paper jam it can be a real PITA to get it to work again. The way that I have found to get out of this is to undo all the alterations to the paper sensors and then successfully let it boot up satisfying all the original sensors. Like I said before, I am not to familiar with how they altered the sensors on the Neo-Flex so I can't help you there. However these are the sensors that I had to play with to get it to work again: ASF Paper Sensor (CN25); PE Sensor (CN29); Paper Thickness Sensors (CN33 and CN34); ASF Phase Sensor (CN30).

When it says Remove Paper try lifting the second set of rollers in from the capping station area. The message should then change to Load Paper. At that point if the ASF Paper Sensor (CN25) is changed from off to on then you should hear it start to boot up. When it is booting up it may go into the Error Code 000100031 ASF Phase Detection Error. Once you can get to that error consistently, then you will need to locate the ASF Phase Sensor and see if it still has the slot sensor attached to it. If it does then you will need to try and simulate the boot up procedure by tripping the slot sensor when you hear the Paper Eject Bar spinning (this take some time). Hope this helps!

Hi, it can always be fixed, question is how. I am NeoFlex engineer, I designed 4880 interface card. There is only one paper in signal and
it is generated from the interface board - you either have single board or two (one skinny one with all flex cables and one cpu card with DB15).

I any case, operation is the same. As in other posts the Epson board must
be setup first in StandbyMode. But before that, any new CPU board has
to be setup on a non-modified 4880 Printer. Once that is done then
setup can be done in StandbyMode.

Remove Paper usually means the Paper_In signal (originally from switch but now via interface board) is HIGH - the switch pulls this signal LOW.
This issue is normally due to open wire - i.e signal is NOT connected to
anything and is HIGH (pulled up via resistor). It can be faulty interface board.

Reach out to me and we can work on a test plan to get you going.

Regards

Hello- I have a Neoflex and have had since September and have had nothing but problems. I moved the machine and have been stuck on REMOVE PAPER since I set up. Moved in original box and set right back up in less then 30 minutes.
2nd issue....the rip program was given to me on a computer. I have the dongle but found after I purchased i cannot out the program on a new computer because the person I purchased from do not have the credentials. Even reached out to All American where the program was purchased and Ken tried to help and could not. So now I don’t have rip software and it is 2k to replace. At this point I know this was a really bad purchase. Now all I can do is try my best to get it going or sale it. And NO ONE is buying Neoflex. Can you help get this printer going? Is there an alternate or cheaper rip software, or one with a subscription payment option that will work with my printer?

Hi,

I also got the remove paper error a few days ago, and have been working with Stitch-Up to find a solution, I may have found the issue and may also have a fix, waiting for some info from kenny at All American, need information as to what needs to be setup on an unmodified mainboard in an unmodified 4880, before it is installed into the neoflex, and what needs to be done once installed in the neoflex.

Also need latest version of the base firmware for the 4880. (Not the NVRAM)

As for the NeoRip Pro. Was the person you got the printer from the original purchaser of the equipment? If so, check back with them to see if they found the CD.

You will need the following information, in order to get the new software install to work…..

CD Key and Serial Number and the dongle for NeoRip pro. Without this. There is no hope, I don’t know if the information is stored in the registry and may be extracted?

Check your messages for the link to the service manuals.
