When doing an underbase..... will any white ink do the job?

you will learn fast that there's a reason an ink manufacturer offers several different white inks and specifically ones for underbasing.

the main reason is for; opacity, quicker flashing with low tack, controlling dye migration from the garment, ect...

I agree with red but I use a 50/50 white reduced for my under base. This way it flashes fast is a thin layer and if there is white in the design and I'm not printing a highlight white I can print flash print.

You can ask 10 shops and get 15 answers on how they do it.

Any white ink should work but like pixelpimp said some are specifically designed for that purpose and will make the job a lot easier. Personally I just use the same white for everything unless I'm printing on poly or spandex. I just play with consistency of it.

Thank you everyone for your input..... I bought a quart of white that is designed for underbase..... will see how it goes
