Hi, everyone. Just wondering a couple things regarding underbases for dark shirts.
If my design has several colors AND white, can I print the white in the same screen as the underbase? If so, would I put the underbase portions of the screen at an 80% halftone or something so they aren't as thick as the full white portions?
And what meshcount should I use?

Most of the time you will want to use seperate screens for the base white and the highlight white.

what Ken says is best - use a second screen for your highlight white.

otherwise, you can just use a single white screen, print the first stroke, flash this and then print white again on top of that for a bright white. now just print your other colors on top of this solid white. be careful not to over-flash your white otherwise other colors will not adhere properly.

So I needn't bother making the underbase parts of the screen a lower% tint of white (assuming I go with the 1-screen method)?

you may still consider using a tinted underbase so that you have a lighter deposit in those areas. it all depends on how soft you want the print to be vs. how opaque you want the top colors.
