What causes the ink to smear on the back of the screen and then print a "ghost" or smear below or above the main shape? The screens are tight in the clamps.

156 aluminum screens, plastisol white and red, 1 pass per side on the emulsion. White underbase is thinned and use 2 passes, flash, 1-2 more passes. Flash between colors. Red using 1-2 passes. Sharp edged squeegee.

from what i can tell in those pictures, it looks like you have excessive bleeding (looking at the last pic). the ghosting could be caused by the screen moving from print to print along with the ink bleeding. make sure the press holds tight registration. is the underbase choked, if so how much?
are you using off contact at all?
