I'm looking to switch emulsions from Ulano TLX to a ready to use emulsion and was wondering if anyone has any input on Ulano QLT.

We've had great success with Ulano LX-660 It is a dual cure that has to be mixed, but we've gotten shelf lives of over 9 months without any problems. Exposes in 50 seconds on our unit. Can handle under flourscent lights without any problems. About $ 50 / gallon

I haven't been much of a fan of the 'one pot' emulsions myself, but I got a sample of Ulano Orange a few weeks back, and I'm seriously considering it for low mesh. Not as good as a good dual cure, but closer than anything else I've used.

If you use a halogen, it would be worth looking into, IMHO.

If you have a decent light source, I'd agree wholeheartedly with Jamie--I used to use LX-660 and 680, and always thought it was great stuff.

So are the "one pot" emulsions not too good for higher mesh and finer detail? I generally use 123 and 156 meshes but every once in a while I'll get a job that needs 196 or higher.

I won't say they aren't good, because I've never used them enough to really dial them in, but I would say a dual cure is easier for me to get good detail out of. YMMV.
