Is there an industry standard mark up for materials (specifically the tees)? When I worked construction we would typically mark up 20% for materials, depending on the size of the job. The larger the job, the lower the markup.
I have been asked by my employer to do a short run (12) of t shirts that I designed to be used as employee uniforms. They will be printed front pocket and back using discharge ink.
The costs break down like this so far:
AA pocket tee purchased directly from AA, by the unit, including shipping= 8.15 per unit.
Figure adding 20% mark up bring unit price, rounded up, to 10 per unit.
Add 6 dollars per unit for labor and ink costs.
Is this fair pricing? More importantly to me than to him.
