Okay, so I'm getting ready to buy JPSS. Do I really need to buy the 8 1/2x11 and the 11x17 or can I just get the 11x17 and cut it in half when I need the smaller paper? Is there any harm done to the paper if cut before printing?

Nope..it works out the same. Just depends on what your printing. You may need the larger once in a while but I use the smaller 95% of the time.

I cut 11x17 JPSS and Opaque papers in half all of the time.
I have never had a problem.
