Good Morning,

Thank you all for the great posts and information, I have recently been asked if I could print the attached design on a heavy cotton grey(Ash) shirt. Customer is requesting waterbase ink... Does not like the heavy plastic feeling. I have found my ink and now moving forward. Customer provided me a vector image that I was able to seperate out, Can anyone take a look at the image and give me pointers as how I should print this to get the most out of the image.

1. Lasy down all the Gold Ink, then Lay down black ink on top or vice versa.

2. Should I be using halftones?

3. I am using 156 Mesh Screens is that ok?

You should lay the Gold down first. Black is or should always be your last color. Always print from light to dark. Did you trap the Gold? Some of the areas of the design will be hard to trap because of the fine lines in the Black. Trapping always provides a much nicer print. Lay your gold down flash it and then print your black.

Let us know how they turned out!

I have not. Years ago when we first started printing the first inks we used were waterbased. I haven't used them since then. Any Metallic ink though you need to use a low mesh count. I would suggest using 80 - 110. You won't get the same effect if you use any higher of a mesh.
