Hello, my name is Sandra.
I'm starting a home based Tshirt business. I'm trying to get as much info and wise guidance from some already experienced people in the trade. I see some things I like already about the forum. I will be doing a lot of exploring. Thanks in advance for anyone that has advice on getting started.

What kind of printing did you want to do? Heat transfers? Screen printing? Vinyl transfers? Rhinestones?

Hi Loretta,
I want to start off my business with heat transfers(no screen!), since I'm learning everything online. I most definitely want to do vinyl and rhinestones as I learn more about the business and the equipment I will need. If you have any leads/info that will help with learning more about different technics and about equipment, please elaborate. I would be most grateful ;)
Sandra. Do you want to use stock designs, custom made transfers, or make your own with transfer paper?

For the ability to do rhinestones and vinyl you will need a cutter/plotter. You can get both from Bling !t Biz.com, Iron On Rhinestone Transfer Systems, Rhinestone Shirts but make sure you upgrade to the graphtec ce5000-60. It's a division of Ryonet. You can get heat transfer materials, presses, vinyl, and rhinestone stuff from them and then when you're ready to screen print (like that other stuff isn't enough already!) you can order your screen printing kit and supplies from them too.

Just starting out in heat transfers you will need a press (probably a 15"x15" to start), printer (Epson workforce 1100), JPSS transfer paper, and hopefully some graphic software. Coreldraw x6 is out now and it looks awesome. $500 for the full version $200 for the upgrade. I'll be getting the upgrade soon.

Seems like there will be lots of X6 users soon.

No, no relation. I like the looks of x6 and what it can do. Have you seen the videos that Advanced Artist made of it? Awesome stuff.. I can't wait to get enough set aside to get my hands on it.

I guess I wasn't very clear on that. My bad. Blingitbiz.com is what I was referring to not graphtec.
