Hey everyone,

I currently work primarily in Vinyl and Plastisol transfers (own a heat press, use it alot!)

I generally use Jerzees 50/50 cotton/poly blend shirts for almost everything. When a Jerzees brand isn't available, I stick with 50/50 cotton/poly alternatives.

HOWEVER - I'd like to explore using other tees of the 100% cotton variety, and rather than invest the cash to do it all on my own, I was hoping I could get some insight from you fine folks.

For Vinyl, Plastisol and general heat pressing, how would you rate 100% cotton tees from:

Hanes
Gildan
Anvil
Jerzees

Is there a scorching problem with any of these 100% cotton tees, as some of my digital transfers require 400+ degrees (Techni Print for laser printers) And how do they hold up in terms of shrinkage, wearability and overall use in the longer term?

I do appreciate any help you can give me here!

although i don't use a heat press, i would stick to higher quality stuff. I would have to suggest hanes i guess. The anvil tees seem a little thin to me and they shrink substantially especially because the 100% cotton thing... shrinkage is always a factor with cotton. I would say gildan has some sturdy tees too, but they seem kinda wide as the sizes increase.. i'm just picky i guess.

I use alot of the gildan 2000's. No problems yet.

Thanks folks, didn't know that about the Anvil tees! I'll get the Hanes and Gildans in stock and give 'em a try before I start offering them up to my customers, I guess.

All 100% cotton tees shrink. The Anvils do shrink more than Gildan but they are also cut larger to compensate. I also find the Anvils softer and more comfortable. Their material is rated by weight just like other tees, I do not find them any thinner. Gildans are average in just about every way but some of mine have a problem with the neck drooping after a few months. I have some Jerzees I like but the neck is too tight for me. The only Hanes I have are Beefy-Ts which are high quality shirts. I used to be very biased against Delta but recently saw some that were very nice, very soft. I have a number of Fruit of the Loom and I can't really say anything good or bad against them, no reason to recommend them or not.

AAA,Pro club comfort, and anvil work for me I only use gildan when requested. My 2c.
