I was pressing some shirts today, carolina blue soccer jerseys, 100% poly. I started out with the usual settings, but I was having the jersey color lift off of the garment and come up with the paper. It made a noticeable box shaped discoloration.
I had read that many poly garments are dye sub colored so I assumed this was the problem.
i had to back the heat off by 30 degrees and the time down 20 seconds, pressure did not seem to make a difference.
At these settings my design was not transferring as well as it should have, I would say about 10% lighter.
Has anyone run into similar trouble? Anyone have a solution?
Are my assumptions correct on the garment dye, and if so what type of dye do other company's use (vapor) that I have never had this trouble with?
thanks in advance.
