Tray height adjustment problems T2

Last night when I was turning the height adjustment dial to raise my shirt platen it just pushes one side up at a time.It also gets hard to turn and bows out the area by the dial.I dont thing something is catching or its off track or something.
I finally just lowered it all theway and stacked some books in there until I got the right adjustment I needed but I dintknow if the whole tray has to be taken apart or what.
