I am new to the forum and new to the business. My tee shirts have an inspirational message on the back with a small logo on the front. Would I need to protect both with copyrights. Any sugesstions where to go for that and about what the cost would be.

You should probably contact a copyright lawyer. The logo should probably be trademarked. As for the saying, I'm unsure what all can be legally done, you may only be able to copyright it in its specific design, not the actual saying/wording itself.

The logo can be trademarked, but doesn't have to be. Trademarking a logo is a long process that usually takes a few years to complete.

The phrase on the back can most likely not be copyrighted.
