I'm getting ready to file a trademark application online with the USPTO. I realize I must file my trademark for class 025 since I plan on selling T-shirts, sweatshirts, pants, hats etc.

In my description of good if I use "clothing, namely, T-shirts, sweatshirts, pants, hats" must I actively be using each in e-commerce? In other words, I plan on starting with T-shirts and slowly moving to other products within the 025 class. Will my trademark be honored if I am not selling pants yet in a year or two?

I am not a lawyer but I did sleep at a holiday inn last night.
No you dont have to be currently using those. If those are your plans then it is fine...even if they arent. I'm not sure but from what the lawyer told me he said as long as it is under the same class it is usaable.
There is a section on the site that lets you ask questions about the application. It would be best to have them answer it for you so there is no confusion.

If the trademark is currently dead then why don't you renew it. I think there should be no problem unless it has been taken over by some person or company and if that's the case than it would be a great problem as you will have to change your logo or trademark.
As I have found out, this info could be useful to you like filing trademark applications, trademark logo problems etc. see signature.
