Tool Carriage Noise

Hi everyone I wanted to pick your brain for a minute.
I have a Roland SC545ex
lately I've been having trouble with a motor error code.
Every time this happens I just do the calibration and get it to work again, but yesterday every time I'm doing the calibration
and I move the tool carriage all the way to the left and then when it moves back it makes a grinding noise and sometimes

it finishes the calibration and sometimes it doesn't.
is there a gear inside the tool carriage?

any help would be appreciated.



I bought this machine used from a supplier company here in Maryland and of course the warranty ran out a couple of months ago.
