I usually don't deal with text/fonts on designs. I created a design using only text using a certain font Dead Kansas. It's sort of grungy looking. However when I uploaded it to to Spreadshirt I was told it had too many anchor points.

Could someone help guide me? My design is set at 11x14. Should I trace it? Then what about the grunge/missing parts of the font?

TIA

Tracing is for making a piece of art into vectors. If you have anchor points then it's already vector. There's a feature in Illustrator called Simplify. From memory I believe it's under Edit/Paths/Simplify. This will reduce the number of anchor points while attempting to maintain the same look. It's a great feature and is probably exactly what you need here. A piece of art with excessive anchor points tends to require more resources than the output device has. You press print then wait, and wait, and maybe finally...nothing. Or the result is finally a post script error. Just so you know where they are coming from.

Thanks, I did fool with the simplify path, but it seemed to distort the font while reducing it. Hmm.

Is it necessary to send in designs with anchor points activated?
