Hi.
I have a SanMar location near me in NJ, and I've contacted them twice to set up an account, but, I haven't heard anything back yet. Is it because I'm just starting out and they can't be bothered with a few piddly shirts?
Is there anywhere else to go in Central New Jersey? Or should I try again? Maybe, I should try to contact someone specific over there. I think that the sales office is in Seattle or something.
I just need a few shirts to try some stuff out and then I'll buy some in quantities over the Summer to get ready for my launch sometime around Halloweenish.
Thanks.

sorry to hear that they are giving you abit of the shaft. We didn't have a problem setting up an account with them and we didn't have an account with them for a couple of yrs since I joined the family business I'm with.

I know of a couple of other distributers in the NJ,PA area that might be willing to work with you. You have Eva Tee's, Delta T's have a dist place in NJ, Bodek and Rhodes is in Pa but they can ship within 1 day to NJ. Broder also has a dist center in Pa but would be in NJ next day.

Best thing for you to do is see if you can get into the Promotions East show in Atlantic City next week. Sanmar will be there and you can ask for the rep for your area and say hey I want to open account and seems like I'm having problems. If you do that you not only got yourself a contact point but if your going to order a gross (144 pcs or more) then they might be able to get a better deal for you.

Thanks.
I stopped at their dist. cntr a couple of weeks ago, and a lady in the showroom got someone on the phone for me to speak with. I thought that she was going to mail me something to fill out and get started with, but nothing. Then I sent an email..............still nothing.
They are just 15-20 minutes down the road from me, so, I thought that might be good for me.
I am just starting out and I only wanted a few shirts to play around with for now. I am doing transfers and some vinyl.......no screens.
I also need some vinyl to mess around with.
I prefer to use sheets for now instead of rolls, but, whatever works will work. Everyone recs. SISER and ECO-FILM.
Thanks again.

If you need just a couple ... go to an outlet store and pick a couple blanks up. You can sometimes get them really inexpensive and do your practice runs on those. Some company's require you to buy x amount for wholesale. Are you set up as a business in your state?
Good luck to you.

Thanks folks.
Whats a decent shirt to use?
Gildan , FOTL, Hanes?
I just want to use a good value shirt........nothing too shoddy.
I have a shirt from the 1970s thats still in good shape! I think its a Hanes.
So many choices.
I just wanna use black and white.
I am setting up shop here in NJ out of my house.
I am doing shirts, but also, photojewelry, mugs, neckties etc. I'll be getting some dye sub stuff soon to do too.
I might do a mix of some wholesale and some retail.
Wholesale to local shops, and retail online and local craft shows and festivals. My target is the college crowd. I live halfway between Rutgers and Princeton so that makes about 50,000 potential customers just in my local area. There are a few smaller colleges around here too.
I think that there may be a t shirt shop or two in the area.
Thanks again.
