Time to move...

Hello All,
I have a question regarding a Riley Hopkins 4X4 press.

I am moving about 30 miles away and need to transport my press. What is the best way to transport it in order for not to break anything along the way?? meaning, do I need to take it apart, tie down any parts, etc. in order to minimize any thing breaking along the way... I plan to rent a moving truck to transport it.

Any advise will be great. Thank you in advance for any suggestions...

Just moved our Riley 8 X 4 press in December. Only moved it across town to our new retail space but knew we would have to remove the arms to get it into the new building. It really wasn't that difficult. Riley's are well made and I don't think you will have any problem moving it. Once we put ours back together it still worked perfectly. Good luck.

Removing the arms is the arms that hold the screens or the arms that hold platens??

I took the platten arms off and the the hole head assembly from the stand. Had no problems putting it right back together. Everything should be numbered if not number each arm 1,2,3 or 4 so everything goes right back into place.
since the platten arms have the pins (along with the bolts), will that be a problem??

If you can move in 1 piece a pallet jack works great for moving press. Otherwise never lift any press without taking apart as damage can happen the pallet arm or heads are not meant to support the presses entire weight.
