hey guys,

just found this forum through a informative website on google. It looks like this is a FANTASTIC community. I have only been on for 15 minutes and have learned HEAPS of information. So, thank you early for that .

I recently graduated from college with a Marketing degree in May (at age 23) and wanted to utilize it in a way that would satisfy my dreams. I am a HUGE clothing fan, so I decided to do what hundreds of thousands have done and start my own "clothing line" -- if you want to call it that.

So far sales are pretty steady. I am building the company using an altruistic approach and with the premiss of staying true to myself and for my customers to do the same. I have already donated money from profits to various organizations that are relevant to my demographic of customers, and plan on continuing this.

I would truly appreciate any feedback, tips -- anything at all.. even just a hello and what you think of my shirts thus far would be nice.

Thanks again guys (and gals) , I look forward to becoming part of this fantastic group of people.

Hopefully the advice I get for my VERY NEW company can serve as a platform for other young entrepreneurs to learn from.

Are you wanting a review on your site or just looking for props on your new business venture? Or are you just saying hey?
lol

Welcome! So great to here that you have started your own clothing line. Add me on facebook... Phillip Westrick - Saint Joseph's College, I've got a few questions for you about your business (i'm a management major and SUCK at marketing) if you'd like to help!

I am not looking for props where props are not deserved. I am here to seek advice from all of you people. This place is a wealth of knowledge and I would be grateful to soak some up!

Any advice? Tips? Suggestions? for my website and or company?

thanks so much.
Hey.

I really like the site... I like how it has a consistent and coherent design. I also like how you've made the BigCartel shopping cart integrate into your site pretty well...

A couple of suggestions... First, I think you (and I need to do this too... I know you just reviewed my site... thanks! :) ) need a section about shipping/returns/policies/stuff like that. Secondly, the link titled "Support" confused me... When I clicked on it, it took a few seconds to realize what the page was. I feel like a word other than "Support" would work better because when I see "Support" on a website, I always think it's going to lead to a link that is going to offer help in some way... if that makes sense. I hope so. I think a really simple change like changing it to "Support Us" could work well.

Take care man. I look forward to seeing where you company goes! Seems like it's off to a good start. Keep it up!

Thank you SO much for the kind words and advice. Really it means a lot to me. yes, I did review your site - the second I saw it , I was worried mine wasn't clean enough . if you know what I mean! haha.

I will DEF. change that to SUPPORT US, thats a fantastic idea and very easy fix. thank you again.

Do you have any advice or anything I could do diff. for the website or company as a whole?
i would match your website with your bigcartel store, plus add a back to site link on there

it's matched as much as bigcartel will let us! lol and there is a link back on big cartel at the top .. is it hard to find? the thing is BC has limits it will only let me do so much!
nevermind u did everyhting right, i just need a new set of eyes..... but i would do a tad more with it, i mean design a more "active" or full background
Yeah I need to fill it up a bit. I will add a section about FAQ and return information.. etc
Hello
Your T-shirts are they unisex ?, if not you need a female section. In the about part what the heck is sweet hangs ?, also in Robb Evancoe section he has a schizophrenic taste in music, wot does that mean. I hope it is nothing to do with the hollywood view of Schizophrenia which is thought of as multiple personality disorder, when they are two different things, yes I'm ranting.
Last thing is when I go to checkout and try and find out how much for shipping, it keeps saying my postcode is wrong ?.

Regards Obeseman
Thanks all good suggestions to fix.
I took all the advice, and I am now re-writing the "BIO and Message" of my company as well as the personal "ABOUT ME's" section. Thanks again.

Does anyone else have some advice? I am really trying to fix everything at an early stage .. ha
I have been getting some good positive feedback, thanks to all your suggestions.

Do you guy's think I add some more "meat" to my website? Maybe more information?
It's a clean design and you do fairly well at keeping it consistent, so that's good. I did, however, notice a few things.

On your blog your menu is different than it is on the site. That's generally a pretty easy fix, and it would be nice if your menu was consistent with the rest of the site. If nothing else it should be on the same side. The blog is the only place where the menu is on the right.

And, as Moohandcow mentioned previously, you really need some policies on the site. You need to cover returns, shipping, ordering and privacy. None of that is there right now and it should be. Those policies let your customers know what to expect and they also cover you should something happen.

I like your site...I personally would stay away from polo shirts...You wouldn't want to be confused with Le Tigre...
