Obviously this is a bit of a variable thing to look at, but I have been told our company is on the verge of buying a 4 head split machine from YES. This is at a similar cost to 4 head machines from Tajima and ZSK, but comes with the benefit of being able to run two seperate designs or keep one half running should you have a problem with the other half.

With a new machine this is a significant long term investment so I am just wondering what people think of the machines and the dealer. A little concerned as some searching of the embroidery forums reckoned SWF should be quite a bit cheaper than Tajima due to lower quality.

Also is there anywhere good to look for 2nd hand machines of this nature?

Never heard of yes but if you are in the USA then contact beacon funding. They will know where used machines are for sale. We have an Swf single head and 4 head. Both run great. For the $14k we saved on the 4 head we purchased an engraver, cutter, merrow machine and upgraded our emb software as well as adding a complete hoop master and mighty hoops system.

Thanks for the feedback. In the UK sadly so not able to use Beacon. We save about £6K on a like for like 4 head machine, or for the same as a standard 4 head Tajima you get a split SWF which gives you a lot of extra flexibility.

Hi Simon, YES aren't the greatest company I have dealt with, Fairly slow at coming back to me with inquiry's etc.

SWF machines tho are pretty good, I wouldn't go for a split machine tho if it was me, I would get a standard 4 head machine and look for a pre owned single head for doing stitch outs and any initial/squad number work.

I personally like the ZSK machines, Been using them for 15 years and haven't had any problems with them, Parts are always available if needed. I have 3 ZSK machines and 1 SWF machine.

You can see all the machines available at the Printwear and Promotion show at the NEC, It is normally on in February each year.

I will pm you my email address if you require any further advise :D

Can only say good things about SWF machines, but as long we are talking about 2nd hand machines - you can never know. It all depends how good was machine maintained and how much it have been run, so It's always a good idea to go and test it before buying.

Tried SWF machines some years ago as an add on to my ZSK machines, no longer have the SWF as they guys using them didn't get on with them and the ZSK machines were more reliable. To be fair this was some time ago so reliability may well have improved, but I will stick with my ZSK's

If you buy anything from yes (no as i like to call them...) expect to be on the road to financial ruin, the staff are rude, unhelpful and the kit is well, crap ...

Look into tajima or other brands, i can recommend a company i deal with for dtg in the uk

resolute ink, they also now deal with embroidery machines. The service they give is better than of any product i have ever bought, give them a call, just do a search for them, ask for colin or andy ... Good luck
