So I've been procrastinating on printing the shirts for my nerdyeye "clothing line" because I wasn't 100% happy with my logo design and feel.

I'm now 99.9% thrilled with this new one. My only problem is that I don't know if it's a good idea to use just the "n" and "e" of nerdy eye rather than using an image or shape for the logo. Do u get what I mean?

I'd add an extra shape/image but I think it's already too much with the fancy "e."

Is it good the way it is or should I scrap it?

I just keep thinking of Volcom and their cool logo. U see it and u instantly know it's VOLCOM.

Looks great Kacie. Personally, I agree that a small E would look much cleaner, but if you're happy with it, keep it. Stay true to your personal tastes when it comes to the look and attitude of your brand - in the end it's one of the only things you can offer a customer that no one else can, and that's what will keep them coming back.

I agree with Dave. I think Nerdy "i" may be a more clever way to go than Nerdy "e".

But once again, Kacie, I think you are missing the big picture. You are not going to develop a logo that is going to make your brand successful. Because it's the brand that makes the logo, not the logo making the brand. You can have the simplest logo in the world, but if your branding and marketing is great, then the logo will be great too. If McDonalds was a failure, we'd say their M is crap. But because they have sold billions of burgers, their M is the Golden Arches.

So stop trying to make things perfect (because you can't) and start focusing on selling shirts.

R u guys serious about the "i" thing? I thought that was so cheesy and overused by Apple already.

U guys didn't really answer my second question tho- is it better/easier to remember if a brand has an image or shape for their logo? Rather than the name itself as the logo?

Here's the little "e."

Amen Tim, but from all the pointless posts I think you are falling on deaf ears. It's just take, take take.
I get what you're saying, but remember that the answers posted in a community forum like this aren't just for the person asking.

Regardless of the person's possible intentions, there are many who read the great answers shared in this forum and benefit from people taking the time to ask and answer all types of questions :)

Some of your responses have been "not nice" as well, so I can also understand where they are coming from :)

Ok here's what I came up with. The little image in the upper left corner is the "eye" or the "logo." The whole thing is really a logo by itself but as a general image/shape representing the brand- it's the curly thing "eye". It's not actually apart of the whole logo with the "n" and "E" - I just put it up there so u could see... maybe I should keep it there?

I'll have a couple more pics up soon.

Thanks guys. Ur awesome.

The elements seem randomly placed as opposed to being a cohesive logo. And this logo has a different feel to it than the artwork you have posted in previous threads. Your artwork is abstract and geometric. This logo looks like you're going for an preppy Abercrombie look.

My previous attempts at this haven't worked, but I'm stubborn, so I'll try again...
Just launch your product line and start getting some sales. Trying to perfect the logo should not be a priority. No one is going to know what "NE" is anyway. You should just have a "NERDYEYE" wordmark on your website, shirts, labels, tags, packaging, etc. Just get the name Nerdyeye out there. Plaster it everywhere you can. And more importantly, SELL SOME SHIRTS TO ACTUAL CONSUMERS! There will be plenty of time to develop a clever, sleek version of your logo AFTER people know what your brand is.
