THICK printing issues

Hello hello all,

I NEED HELP.;)

I recently start screen printing.
I am FRESHMAN!

I don’t like how my screenprinting is coming out, it's look too thick. For my taste.

It could be the mesh I am using; it could be the plastisol I am using?

this is the screeni am using
Wood 20x24 110 Mesh White

Gracias,

BD

heya brokendoll!
the 110 mesh is a fairly coarse mesh. i'd recommend trying at least a 200 mesh to help reduce the ink deposit. higher mesh counts will give you more control but this also requires more squeegee pressure and can be tougher to print manually.

if you want a thinner deposit of ink try using higher mesh count..the one you are using is a 110 mesh count..it allows more ink to be deposited on the print because of its coarser mesh..if you use higher mesh count like 200 mesh youll have a thinner deposit of ink since it has finer holes that control ink deposits..
also try experimenting with water based ink.
Try a 156 mesh on light colors , make sure you are a 16th of inch off contact on darks.
Ya I use about a 195 mesh most of the time ,also try to play around with your squeegee method. With the screen you are using you should only have to flood once b4 you set the screen down to the shirt ,then lay the screen down fully to the shirt then squeegee the ink in but only try to scrape the layer of the ink off not pushing the ink in drastically. Different jobs call for different methods but in time you will know what to do for each job. Good luck and if you have anymore questions just PM me and ill see what i can do.

 Thanks for your reply, I will get another frame with different mesh ;)
before when im just starting all of my mesher were 120 mesh..its much easier to print with than higher mesh counts because the inks can freely go through the mesh..but no all of my meshes are 200 mesh and im just using the 120mesh for metalic inks..i just thinned down my inks a little with reducer so i can easily print it on 200mesh..
