You should ask them for an alternative shipping carrier.
I don't know what fees (if any) has to be paid for international shipping from USA.
They have really good prices, so I would be very surprised if they are "padding" the shipping price.
Call them, or send them an email.

Good luck.

John, if you can estimate the weight of your order, then add a little for the box, there is a calculator at USPS - The United States Postal Service (U.S. Postal Service) that will tell you the cost to Aus. I'd be surprised it it came out much over $40. You will probably have to make it clear that you will accept the risk of loss though, as there is no way to track delivery internationally.

Hi Ian, thats a good link, thanks. Priority Mail International (230) Price Group 6 is the one I want. Just have to figure out the weight. The exchange rate makes it look even worse! Will email em again.

International shipping costs from the states, is what prevents me doing more business with stateside based suppliers. Quite often the freight works out as much as the item purchased. I have found USPS offer far better prices for smaller items.

Marcelo, We are sending the order as soon as John is ready. We were able to find USPS shipping for $59'ish for 10lbs using 6-10 day Priority Shipping. Although we don't have that feature built into the site (at the moment), we are always able to give shipping estimates using USPS, please ask. The only reason we don't have it as an alternative to UPS is due to tracking ability, which USPS does lack. Thanks, Mike
