The point of Trade shows/Events/Markets is of course to sell merchandise and to get your name out there. As hard as it is, that's the easy part. Have a great display that stands out, have your merchandise organized so that you don't keep customers waiting, and a nice welcoming smile. At any event, you'll have a lot of people looking at your stuff and say, oh that's really cool, and you'll have some people buying your stuff. Aside form selling, the other really critical factor of any event is to get leads for prospective buyers. When anyone looks at your stuff, especially if they buy something which will make them more likely to buy from you in the future, ask them if they want to sign up for your mailing list. Not only do you now have a way to get in touch with them, but also you have their permission to send them offers and new product releases. If someone really likes your stuff, ask them if they have any friends that would like your stuff as well, and maybe you can get their email as well. Offering them something in exchange for their email is a great way to get more emails. Perhaps you can offer them a free gift, something really cheap and silly but creative and cool. Or let them know that you will be sending coupons or deals on your products. You can get a lot more out of any event if you sell your merchandise, and get some contact info from buyers and prospective buyers. Hope this helps!
