The Magic Touch / Adkins Heat Press Problems.

Hi Everyone, Apart from introducing myself this is my first post so hoping I'm in the right section. I am a complete novice to t-shirt printing so please be kind. I purchased a second hand The Magic Touch / Adkins swing press in good faith as a working item. What I didn't realise was that it is 21 years old and when I switched it on and set the temp to 100 degrees it actually climbed to 240 degrees before I switched it off. When I left it for about 5 - 10 mins and switched it back on it showed temp around 238 degrees and then started to drop until it reached the set temp of 100 degrees. Does anyone know the reason for this and would I be able to get parts with it being such an old press. I have added a couple of pics to show that the front of the press is different from the newer models with less buttons and on / off switch is on the front as opposed to the left hand side of the new ones. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
