This may sound like a dumb question but I would like to know how to put text on a path at the BOTTOM of the path. Like a circle, when I put text onto a circle (on a path) it always goes at the top of the circle. How do you align text at the bottom of the circle too.

I have Corel Draw 10 and maybe I need to upgrade but it has done most of what I want except fitting text to a path at the bottom. Is this something version 10 can't do that later versions can?

Right now I can draw a circle and fit text to a path at the top of the circle. If I type more text and try to fit it at the bottom of the circle it will just go to the top and overlay the text that is already there even if I point the arrow at the bottom. The way I've been getting around this is using artistic text and using an envelop and holding the ctrl key to arc the text to fit the circle. When I do this the text never looks as good as the text on top. What I mean to say is that the fit-to-path text at the top looks better than the envelop text at the bottom.

Can I fit text to a path at the top and bottom, or am I asking Corel to do something it can't do, or is it just me that isn't smart enough to do it!

I use X3 and it's still even buggy in X3, especially when you do rotations. I'm unsure what all changed since 10, but this should still work:
Copy/paste the circle without any text, the two circles should be right on top of each other even though you won't be able to tell really.
Place the text at top.
Move the circle behind the other circle by using Arrange, Back one.
Apply a transparent fill and outline on the new top circle and apply the text to the bottom of it.

Kind of a rinkydink way around it, but don't see why it wouldn't work :)

I create the bottom text, then when you pick the text along with the circle and that red diamond is present there are the ABC, abc, ABC that appear in the tools above, they all are used to place the text but the last one places it on the bottom (although upside down), after it's upside down you hat that little button further to the left that places it on the other side. It's made of a couple "A"s
I hope that's clear if not I can try to explain better.

I use X3. When I fit text to the botom of a circle, it comes out backward. I use the mirror function on the property bar to mirror the text at the bottom of the circle. I believe I have to mirror the text horizontaly and verticaly. I' m not sure if your version works the same.

Many thanks to those who responded with help and hints about fixing text to the bottom of a path that I was having so much trouble with. I tried the advice I was given and it worked just fine. I still had a little trouble with the space between letters since I had duplicated the path (circle) and with the text on the bottom of the circle it tended to scrunch up more. After some trial and error (a whole lot of error) this is how I have found text on the bottom of a circle to work for me.

I had trouble with the spacing and I would increase the space between the characters but that didn't look so good so I finally got a little smarter and formatted the text by increasing the space between characters BEFORE I tried to fit it to a path by going to Text, Format text, Increase space between character. Then I used the Path Options Quadrant (the little four-sided thingy with XY on it) and chose the bottom tab. I then clicked on the Place on Other Side box and last I clicked on the Edit button to pick the Distance From Path option.

As I said, thank you for your help because with your help I think I have figured out how to do this one thing anyway!
