Hello,
I just received a new GK DC16, and I noticed that the acorn nut that secures the tension knob is dented inward. UPS delivered the press upside down and I am wondering if the nut was dented by them, or does the factory do this during assembly. Could someone with a DC16 or other GK press' that have the same tension knob and nut look at theirs and let be know if its domed shaped or concave(dented)?
Thanks',
Ed

I can't take a picture of mine at this time, but I attached a generic picture of how an Acorn or Cap nut should look. If one doesn't look like that, then something has been done to it. The dome on mine is basically caved in.
Sorry, I didn't see the DC16 here is a pic of the knob and from what it looks like its not suppose to be dented. I would call Digital Knight and you can try and file a claim with UPS

Take lots of pictures and prepare for a lengthy process from UPS

Thanks C. I'll call them tomorrow and see what they say. This problem is very similar as to what some people find with their chrome lug-nuts on vehicles when some service shops don't have the proper double-deep lug nut sockets with the internal plastic disc that keeps the nub on the socket wrench from in-denting the end of the nut.
Maybe if someone has a GK swing-away model they can comment on what they find. I'm curious.
