Take this Job or Not - Printing 2 color logo on Adidas 50/50 Warmup Jacket

Hello and Good Morning,

A couple of questions I was recently asked if I could print a 2 colored logo on the back of an Adidas Warmup Jacket either 50/50 or Polyester. I have seached the forums and have not really found a decisive answer so thought I was post here.

If i do decide to accept this job what types of Ink should i use and what is the curing process for this type of material?

Any help that can be provided is greatly appreciated.

Depending on the colors, you will need a low bleed ink specially formulated for polyester garments to prevent dye migration. Following curing instructions that comes with the ink.

Could you use vinyl and a heat press? If the design suits and you have the setup it could be much easier for you.

I do not have experience with either, vinyl or heat press. Do you think taking the job and outsourcing is a viable solution. Is Vinyl and Heatpress very expensive if i went that route?

How large is the order?

Vinyl, heapress, and cutter will set you back a minimum of $1,000 for entry level equipment. A viable, long term solution will set you back $2,500.

If it's a smaller order, it may be best to sub it out.
its for about 50 pieces (Jackets)
if you have never done it, and have a contract shop you use, sub it out. Go buy a case of seconds of similar fabric, and learn to do it. Take the next one that comes by yourself.
Quality low bleed inks, different temps, tight screens will make it a workable learning process.
Good luck with the experimenting!
