Hello
I was wondering if anyone else has come across this issue when using a Tajima machine.
It's like the thread is being stripped and then bunching until it breaks.
I have re-threaded it a few times and am waiting for some crocus cord to come in so that I can polish the bobbin case.
Any suggestions are welcome!

Spray all the bits the thread moves through with some air duster, unscrew the cover on the arm and blow and crap outta there as well and where the bobbin goes. Then check your needle eyelet is straight on, sometimes if it's not it can cause the frays.

It's called thread shredding. More often than not I find that it's a bad needle

Replace your needles and angle them by 15°, check hook timing and if you have a bur on the hook

I have usually found that it is just bad needle placement. Of course the scarf goes to the back, get the hole perfectly centered front to back and the slightly turn it to the right just a little. Someone said 15 degrees, of course I can't measure that accurately, but I would have 5-10 degrees.
