Hey,

A few of my buddies and I have decided to start our own local t shirt company. We plan on designing our own t shirts and then selling them via our online store and few friends families connections etc.

We are located in Toronto.
My question is how does the production work? Do most t shirt companies buy blank t shirts and then sell? Or do they make the t shirt from scratch? Also how much does it cost to make/buy a blank t shirt?

I know many t-shirt brand buy their blank t-shirts from wholesalers and find printer to print the design, and sell them finally in their online stores. It isn't economic wise to custom made your t-shirts from scratches based on any order quantity less than 1000pcs.
