Hi came across site, while searching for a embroidery machine, we have already been printing on clothing with heat transfer but now want to try embroidery.

If you are new to sewing or embroidery...make sure you get at least 2 days of training. The machines are fairly easy to operate, but the software will be a challenge. Knowing the software well, will really speed up your output.

Well, are you paying cash or credit. Do you have enough business to justify the embroidery machine?

The software comes in different flavors. Complete Digitizing or just Digitizing fonts.

Digitizing is the process of concerting graphic designs to a format an embroidery machine and sew out.

Take your time, they're expensive, and you don't want a machine just sitting there. Do you know about the Heads, and needle count? One head is a complete system that can print by itself. They have multiple heads that are joined together incase you have large orders, you can cut the time down and sew a few at a time.

The needles allow you to have multiple colors. You still only sew one color at a time, but the machine can stop and sew another color. I think they come in one, four, six, ten, and fifteen. They might have other multiples, but those are the ones they had when I took the training with SWF. We bought a 15 color, but we could have used a smaller one and did just fine.
